Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won a contract for development of a 185 MW grid-connected solar plant with a 254 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be situated at Kajra in the Lakshisarai district of Bihar.
L&T will also be responsible for operations and maintenance for a period of ten years. The tender issued in December 2023 stipulated that the BESS must be configured to provide a maximum power output of 45.4 MW for a duration of four hours. Of the total solar power generated, 80 per cent must be directly fed into the grid, while 20 per cent will be allocated for charging the BESS.
