Kundan Green Energy secures 42 MW hydropower project mandate in Uttarakhand

Kundan Green Energy has announced its authorisation to build a new hydropower plant in Okhali, Uttarakhand. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the hydropower project will produce energy from 42 MW hydro project, with the potential to increase output to 60 MW in the future, significantly boosting Uttarakhand’s renewable energy capacity.

Upon commissioning, the Okhali project will increase Kundan Green Energy’s total hydropower capacity to 270 MW, up from the current 104 MW, with an additional 24 MW under construction project at Rally Chu in Sikkim. The Okhali project is part of Kundan Green Energy’s broader plan to increase Uttarakhand’s hydropower capacity by 80 MW through new projects. This initiative, involving an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, was agreed upon in 2023.

In March 2024, Kundan Green Energy announced the construction of a new hydropower plant in Rellichu, Sikkim.
