NTPC Limited has invited bids for the selection of hybrid power generators to set up 1,000 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects anywhere in India under its tranche-VI tender.
The tender has been floated on an international competitive bidding basis, seeking bids from eligible parties on a single stage two-envelope process – comprising separate technical and financial bids, followed by a reverse auction.
The scope of the project involves setting up wind-solar hybrid power projects on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis and supplying 1,000 MW power to NTPC. The pre-bid meeting is expected to take place on April 4, 2024. The last date for bid submission is April 16, 2024 and technical bid opening is on the same date. All bids must be accompanied by an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.16 million per MW.
Recently, in March 2024, results for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 1,500 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, tranche IV, were announced. The tender for the project was issued in December 2023. The projects will be located anywhere in India. ABC Cleantech (Axis Energy) has won 750 MW by quoting Rs 3.27 per kWh. While Juniper Green Energy has won 300 MW by quoting Rs 3.29 per kWh. Other companies have won the following capacities: ACME Cleantech Solutions – 150 MW and ReNew Solar Power – 300 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.32 per kWh.
