Bajaj Hindustan Sugar Limited (Bajaj Sugar) and EverEnviro Private Limited have signed MoU to develop compressed biogas (CBG) plants. The plants will be situated in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, Bajaj Hindustan Sugar produces approximately 500,000 metric tons of press mud each year through its 14 operational sugar mills. This output has the potential to support the establishment of CBG plants with an overall daily capacity of 70 metric tons.
The consistent provision of press mud from Bajaj Hindustan’s sugar mills will enhance the CBG production capacity of EverEnviro’s plants. Additionally, the byproduct of CBG, which is fermented organic manure, will support regenerative agriculture by improving soil health and fertility in the area.
Recently, in February 2024, EverEnviro Resource Management Private Limited signed an agreement to produce CBG for city gas distribution networks.
In September 2023, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited formed a 50:50 joint venture with EverEnviro to build additional CBG production capacity nationwide.
