West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) has issued a request for proposals for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 10 MW solar project. The project will be located at Teesta canal bank (between the Mahananda main canal and the tailrace channel of the Teesta canal fall hydroelectric project at Haptiagachh) in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal. WBSEDCL has projected the expenses for acquiring and installing the equipment to be Rs 1.29 million, excluding GST.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project involves acquiring, fabricating, galvanising, installing, and fixing steel structures, solar modules, array junction boxes, surge protection devices, and lightning arrestors. The bidders are required to submit Rs 25,840 as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is March 7, 2024.
To be eligible, the prospective bidders must have successfully completed a substation or solar project, with equipment valued at 1 million or higher, at a 33/11 KV or above capacity. The chosen bidder is obligated to fulfill the supply, delivery, and installation of the equipment within six months of the contract being award. Subsequently, WBSEDCL will assume control of the project following a successful demonstration period lasting 30 consecutive days.
In August 2023, WBSEDCL issued a tender to select agencies for the supply, installation, operation, and management of 47 electric vehicle battery swapping and charging stations.
In July 2023, the West Bengal Power Development issued a tender to set up and commission pumped storage projects of 900 MW capacity across Bandu reservoir in Purulia, West Bengal.
