Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a request for proposals from developers to develop a 5 MW ground-mounted solar project. To be located at its Raipur facility in Haridwar, the project will be developed on the basis of build, own, and operate model.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes development, construction, synchronisation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the solar project. Additionally, it entails establishing the evacuation network up to the BHEL substation. The bidders are required to submit Rs 3 million as an earnest money deposit. Before power purchase agreement (PPA) signing or 21 days from receiving the letter of intent, whichever is earlier, the developers are required to furnish Rs 12.85 million as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is February 6, 2024.
To be eligible, the bidders are required to have completed ground-mounted solar power projects with a minimum capacity of 2.5 MW, with each project having a minimum capacity of 1 MW. They must also have seven years of experience managing and maintaining 2.5 MW solar power installations. The solar installations need to be put into service and kept running for a minimum of a year. Bidders need to demonstrate that they possess adequate resources to meet the financial requirements of the project. Furthermore, the developer is required to sign a PPA for a period of 25 years with BHEL. The project must be completed within six months of the PPA being signed.
In September 2023, BHEL issued tender to purchase 90 million units of round-the-clock clean power per year on a long-term basis.
In August 2023, BHEL issued a RfP to design, supply, and assemble a floating system together with anchor and mooring parts for a 300 MW floating solar project at Rengali reservoir in Angul district, Odisha.
