SJVN awarded with MSPGCL’s 105 MW floating solar project

SJVN won the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company’s (MSPGCL) auction to build a 105 MW grid-connected floating solar project at Erai Dam Solar Park in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district. The order was won with a tariff of Rs 3.93 per kWh. The tender was floated in June 2022. After the successful execution of the project, there will be a reduction of 265,602 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Also, the project will generate 230 MU in the first year and 5,420 MU over the next 25 years after it is completed. 

The project, which will cost Rs 7.3 billion and will be completed within 15 months of the signing of the power purchase agreement between SJVN and MSPGCL. The power generated by the project will be sold to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company by MSPGCL. 

Recently in October 2022, SJVN Green Energy signed a memorandum of understanding  with the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to develop 1 GW of floating solar projects in Assam. The proposed project is expected to cost Rs 60 billion and will be built across various wetlands throughout the state.
