SUCRL issues tender for land aggregators for 700 MW solar park

Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan Limited (SUCRL) has issued a request for proposals for land aggregators to obtain land on lease for a 700 MW solar park. It is inviting applicants interested in leasing around 3,500 acres of private land for the establishment of solar power projects. After the landowner and SUCRL sign the lease agreement, the lease will be in effect for 29 years and 11 months, with a 5 per cent rent increase every three years.

The land aggregators are required to determine the viability of a location, including land elevation, road accessibility, water availability, shrub presence, leasing rental, and substation distance. There must be no governmental limitations on the chosen land parcels in order to establish a solar project. The criteria for choosing privately leased land will involve considerations such as the minimum distance of the transmission line from the inter-state transmission system substation in kms, the necessary land periphery for constructing a boundary wall in kms, the elevation of the land, and the minimum distance from the current paved road.

To be eligible, applicants should demonstrate a history of successfully concluding assignments related to land aggregation, ensuring that the acquired land is free from encumbrances and encroachments. This expertise should involve either an upfront fee or lease payment arrangement, lasting for at least 20 years, for a project or park with an overall capacity of 300 MW or more. Furthermore, the applicant must have at least one project or park in their portfolio with a capacity of 150 MW or more situated at a single location. Applicants must possess a team with a minimum of five years of experience in managing land acquisition.
