Greenko ZeroC signs term sheet agreement for supply of green ammonia

Greenko ZeroC, the division of India-based AM Green that specialises in green ammonia production, has entered into a term sheet agreement with Yara Clean Ammonia, the leading global trader of ammonia, for the provision of renewable ammonia.

AM Green is establishing green ammonia platform, beginning with a production capacity of 1 million tonnes at Kakinada, which will be implemented in two phases. The aim is to scale up the capacity to 5 million tonnes per year of green ammonia by 2030, which is equivalent to 1 million tonness per year of hydrogen. This term sheet, followed by the offtake agreement with Yara, pertains to the extended-term provision of up to half of the renewable ammonia from Phase 1 of AM Green’s ammonia production facility in Kakinada.

By 2027, the facility will generate and export renewable ammonia obtained from uninterrupted, carbon-free energy sources. The supply of renewable ammonia to Yara Clean Ammonia will support in the production of low-emission fertiliser and the process of decarbonising industries such as shipping and power.
