Apraava Energy bags 300 MW wind project

Apraava Energy has won a 300 MW wind power project at a tariff of Rs 3.24 per kWh. To be located in Aski, Karnataka, the project has been won as a part of Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 1,200 MW inter-state transmission system connected wind power projects, tranche-XIV, auction process. The company will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with SECI. Under the agreement, Apraava Energy will be accountable for obtaining the land, constructing the wind farm, and setting up the grid infrastructure all the way to the metering point at the ISTS grid substation.

The company presently possesses a renewable energy portfolio, including both solar and wind projects, totaling 1,176 MW. These projects are distributed across various states, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka.

In October 2023, Apraava Energy announced that it obtained the Science Based Targets initiative approval for its decarbonisation objective. In August 2023, Apraava Energy signed a MoU with REC Limited and Power Finance Corporation Limited to raise Rs 91.2 billion for its transmission, wind and advanced metering infrastructure projects in India.
