Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) has issued a request for proposals for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 185 MW grid-connected solar project, along with a 254 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). To be located in Kajra village of Bihar’s Lakhisarai district, the BESS project must be developed to supply power up to 45.4 MW for four hours. Of the overall solar power generated, 80 per cent must be directly supplied to the grid, while the remaining 20 per cent will be allocated for charging the BESS.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes survey, design, engineering, procurement, suppling, installing, erecting, constructing, and commissioning of the project on turnkey basis. The bidder is required to submit Rs 182.6 million as an earnest money deposit. The developer is required to furnish 10 per cent of the EPC contract value as a performance bank guarantee cum operations and maintenance (O&M) bank guarantee. The winning bidder will be responsible to look after O&M for a period of ten years. The bid submission deadline is January 4, 2024. Furthermore, the project must be commissioned within 18 months of receiving the letter of award.
Recently, in December 2023, BSPGCL issued a tender for development of a 10 MW floating solar project in Phulwaria dam, Bihar.
