TPREL receives LoA to develop 200 MW renewable energy project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has secured a letter of award (LoA) from SJVN Limited to set up a 200 MW firm and dispatchable clean power with an additional greenshoe option. The project has been won as a part of competitive bidding process.

In order to fulfill the 200 MW requirement, the facility has been carefully designed with a combination of solar, wind, and battery storage. This guarantees that the energy generated from the facility can be delivered as required during peak hours, offering grid stability for distribution companies. The project is anticipated to be completed within 24 months of the power purchase agreement being signed. The project’s deployment will result in reduction of 900,000 metric tonnes of emissions annually.

With this win, TPREL’s overall renewable capacity reaches 8,314 MW. This encompasses 4,100 MW across various developmental stages, along with an operational capacity of 4,214 MW which includes 3,200 MW and 1,014 MW in solar and wind projects, respectively.

In October 2023, TPREL and Mukand Limited signed a power delivery agreement for a 43.75 MW AC group captive solar project at Jamkhed, Maharashtra.
