NTPC REL issues BoS package tender for 1,080 MW wind project

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a balance of system (BoS) package tender for 1,080 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind project. The project will be located in Karnataka.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, micro-sitting, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and validation of guaranteed performance parameters. This involves installing the wind farm, starting from the 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, pooling substation, central monitoring and control station, wind monitoring mast, external extra high voltage transmission line, extending to Gadag-II ISTS substation, and other related components. The developer will be responsible to look after operations and maintenance for a period of three years. Furthermore, the developer will be in charge of fixing or replacing any defective equipment and paying for reactive power fines and other charges levied by the state government.

The project needs to be built with the ability to handle larger wind turbine generators (WTG) models available in the market, as well as WTGs of various capacities, starting at 2.7 MW. Additionally, under the tender, WTGs must be issued by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers. The bid submission deadline is December 4, 2023.

Recently, in November 2023, NTPC REL issued tender for the supply and installation of up to 370 WTGs for 1,000 MW grid-connected wind power project in Gujarat.
