REIL floats a tender for supply of solar module mounting structures

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint venture between the government of India and Rajasthan, has issued a request for proposals for solar module mounting structures. The tender is for 1,000 mounting structures for single solar modules with a power output of 150 W. For this tender, bidders are not required to submit an earnest money deposit .

As per the tender document, micro and small enterprises (MSEs) must declare their Udhyam Registration or Udhyog Aadhar number on the Central Public Procurement portal. REIL has earmarked 20 per cent of the tendered quantity for MSEs suppliers. Of this, 4 per cent has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs. If an MSE vendor participates in the tender and quotes within the lowest bid price band (L1) + 15 per cent, the vendor will be allowed to supply the portion of the demand if the vendor accepts the L1 price. If there are multiple MSE vendors, the supply will be equally shared.

In November 2021, REIL floated a tender to procure 7,000 solar modules with a wattage output of 380 W to 390 W made from 72 monocrystalline or mono passivated emitter and rear cell solar cells. As per the tender guidelines, the modules should perform well in conditions of up to 85 per cent relative humidity and temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C. Wind speeds of up to 130 km per hour should not be a problem for the modules. Any supplied module’s peak power point voltage and peak power point current should not differ by more than 2 per cent from the arithmetic mean of all modules or module strings. For a 72-cell module, the glass used should be toughened low iron glass with a minimum thickness of 3.2/4.0 mm.
