NHPC invites bids for EPC services for 100 MW solar park in Uttar Pradesh

NHPC Limited has floated a tender for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for developing a100 MW grid-connected solar project and associated power evacuation infrastructure in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The selected contractor will also be responsible for comprehensive operation and maintenance activities for five years. The deadline for submission of bids is May 05, 2021.

To be eligible, the prospective bidder must have previously designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects of at least 40 MW as an EPC contractor or developer with at least one of the projectshaving a minimum capacity of 10 MW. Alternatively, the bidder is also eligible if it has executed an industrial projectin the area of power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer, coal mining, or any other process industry either as a developer or an EPC contractor of a value of at least Rs 2 billion in a single project. Additionally, the bidder must have set up at least one electrical substation ofat least 33kV with circuit breakers and a power transformer. As per the financial criteria, the bidder must have a net worth equivalent to at least 100 per cent of the paid-up share capital, a working capital of at least Rs 655 million, and an average annual turnover over the last three years of at least Rs 5.89 billion.

In January 2020, NHPC floated a tender to develop a 100 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected ground-mounted solar power project at the ultra-mega renewable energy power park in the Koppal district of Karnataka. In November 2020, the company proposed to develop an ultra-mega solar park with a capacity of 600 MW in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh.
