Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL) has invited Request for Selection bids for the development of 140 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects on June 18, 2019. The last date for submission of bids is July 23, 2019.
The project involves setting up of three ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects for supply of power of 55 MW capacity (14 MW solar + 41 MW wind) in Gujarat for Western Railways, 15 MW capacity (3 MW solar + 12 MW wind) in Karnataka for South Western Railways and 70 MW capacity (18 MW solar + 52 MW wind) in Madhya Pradesh for West Central Railways, on built, own and operate basis.

The Zonal Railways will sign the power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the project developers for purchase of power for a period of 25 years. The project is expected to complete in 18 months.
