France opens bids for 300 MW solar tender in Fessenheim nuclear conversion plan

The French government has opened bids for a 300 MW solar power project as part of the conversion programme for its Fessenheim nuclear power plant, which is due to be decommissioned by 2022. To be set up at an estimated cost of $284 million, the  300-MW solar project will be carried out in three phases and the first bids are expected in six months. Of the total capacity, 200 MW will be ground-based solar power plants, 75 MW will be rooftop solar installations, while 25 MW will be smaller installations.
