Telangana approves tariff for EV charging stations

The Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) has approved a tariff of Rs 6 per kWh for electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations. TSERC rejected the use of open access of renewable energy for electricity supply to charging stations. For low tension voltage level, the tariff has been fixed at Rs 6 per kWh. But for high tension voltage level, the tariff changes according to the time of the day. From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. a tariff of Rs 7 per kWh is applicable, while from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., a tariff of Rs 5 per kWh will be applicable. A tariff of Rs 6 per kWh will be applicable for EVs being charged between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
