The MNRE has asked the Tamil Nadu government to prevent arbitrary curtailment or backdown of solar power, especially from plants that have “must-run” status. The move came after the MNRE received multiple complaints regarding the backing down of solar projects in the state. These included petitions filed by the National Solar Energy Federation of India and Adani Green Energy, blaming arbitrary backdowns for the huge losses incurred by solar developers.
