Candian Solar energies two solar projects in Japan

Canada-based solar PV company Canadian Solar has announced the start of commercial operations of two solar PV power plants, totalling 12.7 MWp, in Japan. The two plants are the 10.2 MWp Aomori plant in Rokunohe Town, Aomori Prefecture, and the 2.5 MWp Saitama Minano plant in Minano Town, Saitama Prefecture. The Aomori and Saitama Minano plants are powered by Canadian Solar’s 39,248 and 9,240 CS6P-P modules respectively. The electricity generated by these plants will be purchased by Tohoku Electric Power Company, Inc. and Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc. under a 20-year feed-in tariff contract at the rate of JPY 36 and JPY 32 per kWh respectively. In a separate development, Canadian Solar announced that Wirsol has started the commercial operations of a 30 MWp solar PV power plant in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The plant is built with Canadian Solar’s 116,335 CS6P-265P modules and is expected to generate 27,634 MWh of power annually.
