Denmark-based Dong Energy has sold a 50 per cent stake in its 1 GW Bay State Wind Project to local utility Eversource Energy. The project was acquired by Dong from RES Americas in April 2015. As per the terms of the transaction, Dong will handle the offshore work, while Eversource will be responsible for managing the onshore transmission infrastructure. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and is one of the two sites being developed by Dong in the US. It also owns the 1 GW Ocean Wind site off the coast of New Jersey. Meanwhile, Eversource’s renewable energy portfolio in the US comprises a 50 MW biomass facility, 8 MW of solar projects and 70 MW of hydroelectric plants.
