Enel, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, has completed the acquisition of 7 operational solar plants in the US from an unnamed utility. The plants have a combined installed capacity of approximately 270 MW, and are expected to generate around 0.4 TWh of electricity annually. The acquisition was completed for approximately $140 million.
Earlier, in September 2026, Enel completed the acquisition of a solar portfolio from Excelsior Energy Capital for approximately $760 million in the US. The projects have a combined installed capacity of 810 MW and are expected to generate around 1.6 TWh of electricity annually. The acquisition, funded through Enel’s operating cash flows, is expected to increase its ordinary EBITDA by approximately $90 million annually.
In February 2026, Enel S.p.A., through its subsidiaries Enel Green Power North America and EGPNA Project Holdco 2, signed agreements with Excelsior Energy Capital to acquire an 830 MW renewable energy portfolio in the US. The portfolio comprises wind and solar plants with an expected average annual output of around 2.1 TWh.
