Linea Energy closes financing for 172 MW solar project in US

Linea Energy has secured project financing for its Watertown solar project, a 172 MWdc utility-scale facility located in Sanilac County, Michigan. The financing package comprises a construction-to-term loan, a tax equity bridge loan and a letter of credit facility. It is led by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, with participation from Société Générale, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, and Truist Bank.

Linea has also signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Consumers Energy, a public utility regulated by the Michigan Public Service Commission. Currently under construction, the Watertown project is expected to generate sufficient clean energy to power 25,126 homes annually in Michigan through the Midcontinent Independent System Operator market starting April 2027.

In February 2026, DESRI and Linea Energy announced the signing of DESRI’s preferred equity investment in Linea’s Duffy BESS project in Texas. The Project constitutes a 235 MWac, two-hour duration utility scale battery energy storage system. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP acted as legal counsel to Linea Energy for the transaction, while King & Spalding LLP represented DESRI.
