Rajesh Power inks 65 MW/130 MWh BESPA with GUVNL

Rajesh Power Projects Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rajesh Power Services Limited, has inked a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The agreement is for the development of a 65 MW/130 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Gujarat, which is capable of supplying power for up to two hours.

Under the BESPA, the project will operate under a 12-year agreement from the date of commissioning at a contracted tariff of Rs 189,000 per MW per month. It is expected to be commissioned within 18 months of the agreement’s signing. The project was awarded to the company through tariff-based competitive bidding under GUVNL’s request for selection for setting up of standalone BESS – Phase VII, with support from viability gap funding under the power system development fund.

Earlier in December 2025, GUVNL floated a tender for the development of a 335 MW/670 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems in Gujarat (Phase VIII).
