Shreya Mishra: Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, SolarSquare

Shreya Mishra graduated from IIT Bombay and began her professional journey at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she worked on strategy and business transformation projects across sectors. “My time at BCG shaped my structured approach to problem-solving and building scalable businesses.  I later co-founded Flyrobe, a fashion rental platform, and scaled it across multiple cities,” says Mishra. For the past five years, she has been focusing on building SolarSquare as co-founder and chief executive officer, with the mission of making rooftop solar adoption seamless, transparent and trustworthy for Indian homeowners.

The most exciting part of Mishra’s current role is having a front-row seat to India’s historic energy transition. “Being part of a journey that directly contributes to the country’s growth and energy security is incredibly fulfilling. Working alongside a world-class leadership team to scale a high-growth company and tackle ambitious challenges makes this journey both inspiring and rewarding,” she says.

According to Mishra, a solar plant is a great investment for homeowners – a one-time investment that provides 25 years of free electricity with payback periods of less than five years. However, the barriers to adoption include consumer awareness and the lack of easy and affordable financing.

“For awareness, the industry is taking the lead to create educational content about solar. Maybe even a joint industry association campaign on the lines of “mutual fund sahi hai” can be implemented,” she says.

“I lead with a clear sense of purpose and focus on outcomes, setting ambitious goals and trusting my team to take ownership of delivering them. At the same time, I am deeply invested in building a strong leadership team, supporting them and helping them grow. Creating a culture where people feel empowered, valued and aligned with our mission is important to me – because when the team thrives, we can achieve extraordinary results together,” she says.

Mishra prefers quiet weekends. She spends quality time with her daughter and husband, and loves to paint. “It puts me in a flow state and feels meditative. Since my husband and I are co-founders, work can be all-consuming during the week, so on weekends we try to have a simple date-night ritual at our favourite Asian restaurant, even though we often end up discussing work,” she says.
