SECI announces results of 1.2 GW solar and 3.6 GWh energy storage auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the winners of its 1,200 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects with 600 MW/ 3,600 MWh energy storage systems (Tranche-XXI). In the auction, NLC India Renewables and ENGIE secured capacities of 600 MW and 200 MW, respectively. The capacities were secured at a tariff of Rs 3.12 per kWh each. 

Furthermore, RPIL Power Three and Oriana Power secured capacities of 300 MW and 100 MW, respectively, at tariffs of Rs 3.13 per kWh each. According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers developing solar power plants, each integrated with an energy storage system. The tender was floated earlier in June 2025.

Earlier in December 2025, SECI issued a tender for the development of 1,000 MW/8,000 MWh of pumped-storage projects under the PSP-I programme for on-demand use.
