EIE wins WBSEDCL’s 10 MW rooftop solar auction 

EIE Renewables has emerged as the winner of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company’s (WBSEDCL) auction for the installation of 10 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The rooftop systems will be set up across eight districts of West Bengal. Out of these eight districts, Medinipur, Bankura, Kolkata South, and Kolkata North will have capacities of 1.5 MW each, and  Bardhaman, Berhampore, Malda, and Siliguri districts will have capacities of 1 MW each.

The approximate work cost is Rs 58.5 million for installations in Medinipur, Bankura, Kolkata South, and Kolkata North. Furthermore, projects in Bardhaman, Berhampore, Malda, and Siliguri have an estimated work cost valued at Rs 39 million. The installations are required to be completed within seven months of the letter of award. The rooftop solar tender was issued in September 2025.

Earlier in October 2025, WBSEDCL issued a tender to set up 250 MW/1,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems at the Goaltore substation in Paschim Midnapore, West Bengal.
