Avaada Group inks MoU with GRIDCO and IIT-Bhubaneswar to develop green hydrogen CoE

Avaada Group has inked a MoU with GRIDCO and IIT-Bhubaneswar to develop a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Odisha. The centre will lead advanced research on green hydrogen applications, covering energy storage, industrial use, and mobility. It will also assess the technical and economic feasibility of emerging hydrogen technologies.

Furthermore, under the MoU, Avaada Group will set up a dedicated extension facility of the CoE at its production facility in Odisha. This extension facility will be completed with specialised technical teams and research infrastructure. The company will also fund and support selected research and development initiatives undertaken at the centre.

Additionally, GRIDCO will serve as the implementing agency, liaising with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Government of Odisha for funding and programme implementation. IIT-Bhubaneswar will act as the host and academic partner, offering land, research support, and institutional infrastructure.

Earlier in September 2025, Avaada Group rolled out 11 solar power projects in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0.
