RWE has commissioned the Stoneridge solar project in Milam County, Texas. The project, comprising 200 MW of solar capacity along with 100 MW/200 MWh of battery storage, will contribute to strengthening the regional energy supply. The project created more than 200 construction jobs and now includes ongoing permanent operational roles. Additionally, it is set to contribute several million dollars in tax revenue to Milam county and the Thorndale Independent School District. These investments are expected to benefit local emergency services and educational programmes.
In November 2025, RWE signed an eight-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Carlsberg Sverige to supply 25 million kWh of electricity annually from the Örken onshore wind farm starting January 2026. This will meet around 80 per cent of the brewery’s energy needs in Sweden through power generated from the 26 MW wind project.
In November 2025, RWE completed construction of the 100 MW Lafitte Solar project in Louisiana, enabled through a long-term PPA with Meta and expected to be fully online by the end of 2025. The project created over 150 construction jobs, generated $32 million in regional tax revenue, and supports sustainable land use through native vegetation and local sheep grazing.
