CESC floats tender for 600 MW wind solar hybrid projects

The Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) has floated a tender for the development of 600 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. The projects will be developed under a build-own-operate model.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work encompasses setting up the wind–solar hybrid projects. It also includes establishing the transmission network up to the interconnection point. Furthermore, the scope includes securing land, installing and operating the projects, and obtaining the necessary approvals. The electricity produced from these projects will support CESC in fulfilling its renewable power and consumption commitments. Additionally, CESC will ink a 25-year power purchase agreement with the shortlisted bidders.

Further, according to the tender guidelines, bidders need to furnish an earnest money deposit of Rs 2 million per MW per project. They are also required to provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs 2.3 million per MW for the solar portion and Rs 3.2 million per MW for the wind portion of the projects. The bid submission deadline is January 19, 2026.
