The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has recognised Deendayal Port Authority (Gujarat), V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (Tamil Nadu), and Paradip Port Authority (Odisha) as green hydrogen hubs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM).
The recognition marks a significant step towards developing an integrated hydrogen ecosystem and advancing India’s shift towards clean energy. Furthermore, NGHM aims to position India as a global hub for the production, utilisation, and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives.
Earlier in July 2025, MNRE opened the second round of proposal submissions under the research and development scheme of the NGHM.
Furthermore, in March 2025, the Government of India launched five pilot projects to deploy hydrogen-fuelled buses and trucks as part of the NGHM.
