GPS Renewables and CSIR-NCL join forces to develop SAF

GPS Renewables has joined forces with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) for the development of commercial-scale production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from ethanol. The technology also holds potential for producing SAF from methanol.

Under the collaboration, GPS Renewables will contribute towards funding the development of technology built on a patented catalyst from CSIR-NCL. This technology facilitates the one-step oligomerisation of ethylene and other olefins. Furthermore, with licensed access to CSIR-NCL technology, GPS Renewables will set up a commercial-scale plant under the project brand NG SAF. The collaboration seeks to showcase the first commercial Ethanol-to-Jet facility, with GPS Renewables holding exclusive rights for its commercialisation.

Earlier this month, GPS Renewables and its subsidiary Proweps joined forces with Biogastechnik Süd GmbH to bring advanced paddle agitators (mixers) under their brand Varibull to the Indian market.
