ACME Solar inks BESPA for 275 MW BESS projects in Andhra Pradesh

ACME Solar Holdings has announced that its wholly owned subsidiaries have signed battery energy storage purchase agreements (BESPAs) with NHPC Limited. The BESPAs pertain to the development of two standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The total contracted capacity is 275 MW/550 MWh, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The projects are expected to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of BESPA signing. Additionally, the project will be developed under a build-own-operate model and will be supported through viability gap funding. The BESS projects were awarded through an e-reverse auction held in June 2025, where ACME Solar secured 50 MW/100 MWh at a tariff of Rs 210,000 per MW per month and 225 MW/450 MWh at Rs 222,000 per MW per month.

In June 2025, ACME Solar commissioned 75 MW at its ACME Sikar solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, raising the site’s total commissioned capacity to 240 MW out of the total capacity of 300 MW.
