Senvion India has recently launched the 3.1M130 wind turbine, and grid-connected commercial installations are expected to begin across the country. It has also been listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers, as of April 2025. The 3.1M130 turbine is built on Senvion’s well-established 2XM platform and features a 130 metre rotor, enhanced control systems and site-specific flexibility for pad-constrained locations, where MW targets need to be met despite limited installation locations. It has been designed, prototype-tested and certified in India, with over 80 per cent of its components locally manufactured. It is engineered to maximise annual energy production under Indian wind conditions.
