Qair secures approval for wind and solar projects in Morocco

Qair has secured key approvals for its Tetouan wind and Tiznit solar projects in Morocco. Both the projects will generate 505 GWh of clean energy annually. The projects will support Moroccan industries and reduce carbon emissions.

The Tetouan wind farm is expected to start operations in 2029 and will produce 390 GWh per year. The Tiznit solar project, set for commissioning in late 2027, will generate 115 GWh annually. Both projects were authorised by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development under Law 13-09, which promotes private investment in Morocco’s renewable energy sector.

Qair is also expanding its footprint in Africa. In Tunisia, the company has secured agreements for two large solar projects totaling 298 MW in El Khobna and Gafsa. In Chad, the company is developing two 15 MWp solar farms with a 8 MWh battery energy storage system.
