NTPC Green Energy and MAHAPREIT form JV to develop clean energy projects

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) have established a joint venture (JV) named NTPC-MAHAPREIT Green Energy Limited. The shareholding structure comprises a 74 per cent stake held by NGEL and a 26 per cent stake by MAHAPREIT.

The collaboration aims to jointly develop renewable energy infrastructure in India, with a focus on solar, wind, and hybrid power projects, either with or without integrated storage systems. Additionally, the JV will also be responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy parks. This includes ultra mega renewable energy power parks and other related renewable energy projects.

The total targeted capacity under this venture is up to 10 GW. Further, these projects will be located across Maharashtra and other states in India, supporting the wider national objective of scaling up clean energy deployment at utility scale.
