Vikram Solar expands manufacturing capacity to 4.5 GW with facility upgrades

Vikram Solar Limited has expanded its manufacturing capacity with a 1,000 MW increase at its Falta facility in West Bengal and upgrades to its Oragadam facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The expansion enhances production capabilities, allowing the manufacture of high-efficiency solar modules, including TOPCon and HJT technologies.

With these developments, Vikram Solar’s total annual nameplate production capacity has reached 4,500 MW. The expansion at the Falta facility began with the installation of essential equipment on December 5, 2024, and has now been completed. Furthermore, the Chennai facility upgrades have strengthened production capabilities at Oragadam, now aligning with international quality and sustainability standards and supporting the company’s efforts to scale operations.

In January 2025, Vikram Solar secured a 1,000 MW order to supply Hypersol n-Type TOPCon glass-to-glass modules, each with a power output of 580 Wp or higher, for JSW Neo Energy Limited’s renewable energy projects in Karnataka, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, with manufacturing taking place at its facilities in Falta, West Bengal, and Oragadam, Chennai.
