TMEIC Corporation Americas which is a subsidiary of TMEIC Corporation (Japan) has commenced production of photovoltaic (PV) inverter manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas. This is a 144,000 sq ft facility and it started manufacturing utility-scale PV inverters in November 2024.
It surpassed the initial production expectations and manufactured over 300 PV inverters by February 5, 2025. TMEIC has installed more than 50 GW of renewable energy systems globally, with 28 GW in North America since 2010. Furthermore, in mid-November 2024, TMEIC hosted an opening ceremony at the Westport facility.
The Industrial systems departments of Toshiba Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, TMA Electric Corporation and ToshIba GE Automation Systems Corporation merged to establish Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC). In April 2024, the company changed its name to TMEIC Corporation.
