The Competition Commission of India has approved Gentari Renewables India’s acquisition of 21 special purpose vehicles (SPVs) and the holding companies of certain SPVs. These entities are engaged in the generation and sale of solar and wind power.
Gentari Renewables India, an indirect subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), focuses on providing clean energy solutions, including renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility. This acquisition aligns with Gentari’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
In December 2024, Gentari signed a power purchase agreement with AM Green Ammonia India to supply 650 MW of round-the-clock renewable energy by establishing 2,400 MW of wind and solar capacity, integrated with 350 MW/2,100 MWh energy storage, across Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
