North East Frontier Railway floats tender for 7.8 MW rooftop solar systems

The Rangiya Division of North East Frontier Railway has floated a tender for the installation of 7,835 kW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems at residential buildings with 5 years of maintenance contract. The commissioning timeline for the projects is 6 months. The estimated value of the project is Rs 355.1 million. The final date for submission of bids is December 13, 2024.

According to the tender guidelines, bidders have to pay an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.93 million. The scope of work involves the supply, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems. The rooftop solar systems must range from 3 kW to 10 kW.

To be eligible, the bidders should have completed similar solar projects in the last seven years. Furthermore, they should have completed three similar projects which cost a minimum 30 per cent of the tender value each, or two similar projects with each project costing minimum 40 per cent of the tender value or one project costing 60 per cent or more of the tender value. Similar projects should have a minimum capacity of 30 per cent of the total tendered quantity or capacity. The bidders should have a local service center located at Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Jorhat, Agartala, or Silchar for solar projects of more than 1 MW capacity.

The solar PV modules to be used in the project must be on the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. The systems have to use monocrystalline solar panels and include inverters with remote monitoring capabilities.
