SECI issues tender for 1.4 MW solar projects with BESS

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals for commissioning of 1,385 kW of grid-connected solar projects with 394 kW/ 1,117 kWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). To be located in Lakshadweep across four islands (Amini, Androth, Bitra, and Kadmat), the projects will be set up on the basis of renewable energy service company model.

The project in Amini will have a total capacity of 240 kW, comprising at least 240 kW of AC solar capacity and a minimum BESS capacity of 24 kW/12 kWh. It is expected to supply 434 MWh of energy annually. The project planned for Androth will have a total capacity of 500 kW, including at least 500 kW of AC solar capacity and a BESS capacity of at least 50 kW/25 kWh. It is expected to supply 922 MWh of energy annually. While, the project planned for Bitra will have a total capacity of 45 kW, including a minimum AC solar capacity of 160 kW and a minimum BESS capacity of 120 kW/480 kWh. It is expected to supply 289 MWh of energy annually. Furthermore, the project planned for Kadmat will have a total capacity of 600 kW, including at least 900 kW of AC solar capacity and a BESS capacity of at least 200 kW/600 kWh. It is expected to supply 289 MWh of energy annually.

Furthermore, the projects must be completed within 24 months of power purchase agreement being signed. The bid submission deadline is July 23, 2024.
