In July 2023, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) issued tender for development of 1.5 GW electrolysers production capacity as part of Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme, Tranche I. For this tender, 21 companies have bid for developing 3.4 GW of annual capacity for manufacturing electrolysers. Of this, 15 and 7 firms have bid for 2,942 MW (bucket 1) and 486.5 MW (bucket 2) of annual manufacturing capacity, respectively.
In the same month, SECI also issued tender for appointing green hydrogen manufacturers for development of 450,000 tonnes of green hydrogen production facilities as a part of the SIGHT scheme, mode-1, tranche-1. In this tender, 14 companies have bid for developing 553,730 metric tonnes of green hydrogen production facilities. Of the 14 firms, 13 have bid for production capacity of 551,730 metric tonnes per annum under bucket I. Meanwhile, 1 firm bid for bucket II production capacity of 2,000 MT per annum.
Recently, in December 2023, SECI issued tenders for developing 1,350 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind projects, tranche-XVI with a greenshoe option of additional 700 MW. The projects will be situated in Gujarat, Karnataka, and Rajasthan with a capacity of 1,000 MW, 250 MW, and 100 MW, with greenshoe option of 500 MW, 150 MW, and 50 MW, respectively.
In the same month, SECI issued tender for selection of renewable power developers for delivering 1,000 MW ISTS connected firm and dispatchable power anywhere in India.
