Gujarat issues BoS tender for 500 MW solar project

Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) has issued a request for proposals for the balance of system (BoS) packages of 500 MW solar project. The project will be located in Khavda, Gujarat.

According to the tender guidelines, the project scope encompasses design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, provision, packing and forwarding, transportation, insurance, unloading, construction, civil works, installation, testing, and commissioning, all on an engineering, procurement, and construction basis. It also includes operations and maintenance for a period of three years. Furthermore, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 50 million as an earnest money deposit. The developers are required to submit 5 per cent of EPC contract price as performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is May 21, 2024.

GIPCL will supply solar modules to the developers. The project is expected to be commissioned 16 months after the issuance of the letter of award. To be eligible, the bidders should have experience in designing, supplying, erecting/supervising erection, and commissioning/supervising commissioning of BoS for solar projects with a total installed capacity of 100 MW or more. Of these, at least one project must have a capacity of 40 MW or more. The reference project of at least 40 MW capacity must have been completed within the last seven years from the bid submission date, with a minimum of six months of operational history before the bid submission date.
