Masdar, Taaleri Energia to buy 1 GW of Polish hybrid renewables project

Masdar and Taaleri Energia have acquired eight hybrid renewable energy projects in Poland.  Onshore wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies are part of the projects. The deal includes a 1 GW portfolio with a total capacity of more than 1 GW.  Masdar’s portfolio in Europe, and specifically in Poland, where it possesses 51.4 MW of wind projects, has been significantly expanded with this acquisition from Polish developer Domrel Biuro Uslug Inwestycyjnych.

It is anticipated that the projects will launch between 2026 and 2030. Furthermore, the projects will take advantage of recent amendments to the Polish Energy Law known as cable pooling, which allow the connection of many renewable energy sources at a single grid connection point. In order to advance the projects through the development stages, Masdar and Taaleri Energia will collaborate with the seller.

In November 2023, Masdar collaborated with Emirates Steel Arkan to create an innovative green steel project. The pilot initiative is the region’s first of its sort in the Middle East and North Africa. The project is presently in the installation stage and is situated in the Emirates Steel Arkan production facilities in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi.
