NGEL and Nyara Energy sign MoU for green hydrogen production

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Nayara Energy, have signed MoU to explore prospects in green hydrogen and clean energy space.

In accordance with the MoU, companies will work together to manufacture green hydrogen for captive use by Nayara Energy and to expedite decarbonisation and carbon footprint reduction. This partnership supports the Indian prime minister’s vision for an independent India, which is in line with NTPC’s aspirations to develop hydrogen projects in India.

Recently, in September 2023, NTPC REL issued a request for proposals to supply crystalline bifacial solar modules of cumulative capacity 1,584.6 MW, having wattage output of at least 540 Wp each for 1,255 MW of projects. The projects would be set up at the Khavda solar park in Kutch district, Gujarat.

In the same month, NTPC Limited signed a MoU with Oil India Limited to investigate collaboration in green hydrogen and its derivatives, renewable energy, geothermal, and decarbonisation initiatives.
