JREDA invites bids to install 8,000 agricultural solar pumps

The Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) has issued request for proposals for installation and commissioning of 8,000 agricultural solar pumps. The project consists of solar pumps with varying capacities as a part of component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) programme.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidder will be required to submit an earnest money deposit equal to 2 per cent of the contact value. The developer will also be required to look after the solar pumps’ operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The project developer will also be required to submit performance bank guarantee of Rs 3.84 million. Additionally, the developer must finish the commissioning of agricultural solar pumps within 120 days of receiving the letter of award.

In order to qualify, the bidder must be experienced with installation and commissioning for 300 off-grid solar pumps and the bidder should be producer of solar pumps, solar modules or solar pumps controller. The bid submission deadline is September 4, 2023.

In May 2023, the JREDA requested bids for the five-year operation and maintenance of 68 mini and micro solar systems totalling 1.39 MW. The project will be located in various villages around Jharkhand’s Chatra district. The project is expected to cost Rs 1.79 million.

In the same month, JREDA was looking for consultants for executing a bathymetry survey and soil test report for a 600 MW floating solar power project at Chandil Dam in Jharkhand.
