Roofsol Energy commissions 5 MWp rooftop solar plant in Ludhiana

Roofsol Energy, a Mumbai-based company has inaugurated a 5 MWp rooftop solar plant at Punjab-based textile manufacturer ST Cottex’s Ludhiana plant. In its first year, the plant is expected to generate 6.7 million units of electricity and replace 7,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases. The system includes 10,700 high efficiency JA Solar 465 Wp Mono Perc modules and 39 Sungrow 100 kW inverters. The plant’s developer, Radiance Renewables installed it using the RESCO model.

Recently in July 2022, Punjab Electricity Development Agency invited bids for the installation of a cumulative capacity of 5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The project is oriented towards installation of solar rooftop systems over government buildings in the state. Upon success, the bidder will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the project for a period of five years.
