LG announces 500 MW solar module manufacturing facility in the US

LG Electronics, a South Korean electronics company, is planning to develop a 500 MW solar module manufacturing unit in Huntsville, Alabama, US. To this end, the company will invest $28 million in the facility, which, in turn, would help create 160 job opportunities. Reportedly, LG will build the new factory with two production lines in an existing building on the company’s 48 acre campus in Huntsville. The facility will manufacture n-type solar panels and is expected to start operations in early 2019.
