Brazilian brewing company Ambev SA has entered into a partnership to build a solar plant that will supply power to all its distribution centres located in Minas Gerais, Brazil. According to sources, a solar plant will be developed in Uberlandia, a municipality in Minas Gerais, with an investment of $1.8 million. The company will procure 75 per cent of the power generated from the plant over the next 10 years. Ambev SA is also looking for options to source renewable energy for its operations in other Brazilian states as well. This is in line with the company’s plan to use only renewables for all its operations in Brazil.
