ERG launches 150 MW wind project in Kazakhstan

Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) has launched a 150 MW wind project in Kazakhstan. The project, located in the Aktobe Region, consists of 24 installed wind turbines. It reportedly involved an investment of more than $142 million. The project is expected to produce more than 500 million KWh of electricity annually.

Additionally, the project will offset around 440,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, and reduce coal usage by over 300,000 tonnes. ERG Capital Projects, a subsidiary of ERG, was responsible for the implementation of the project. Furthermore, the project received financial support from the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.

In July 2025, YPP Corporation and KAZAKH INVEST signed a framework agreement to develop a green hydrogen project in Kazakhstan, with an investment of up to $3.1 billion. The project will include 2 GW of wind and solar power capacity, electrolysis and ammonia production units, and is expected to produce 750,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 310,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.
